@bkmeijer - Of course Sinister counts as one of the big guns. He's been involved in ALMOST every tragedy the X-Men have ever faced, to some extent. It's very easy to argue that Sinister has caused far more damage to the X-Men than even Magneto or Apocalypse.

He was responsible for the Mutant Massacre.

Because of the Mutant Massacre Warren's feathered wings were crippled, which led to Apocalypse turning him into his 4th Horseman.

He created Madelyn Prior, who basically tore the X-Men apart at the seams, starting with Cyclops leaving the team.

He was responsible for Inferno, which saw NY get invaded by demons, the transformation of Madelyne Prior into The Goblin Queen, and her death.

He released the Legacy Virus on the world. (Granted, Stryfe tricked him into thinking the container was the Summers' family line of DNA. Stryfe was the ONLY person to ever get one over on Sinister. But still, Sinister's shady dealings led to the Legacy Virus being unleashed and killing countless mutants for over a decade on the comics.)

He was responsible for capturing Hope Summers as soon as she was born, which led to Cable going back into the future to train Hope, as well as Bishop turning heel and chasing them through time.

He was responsible for manipulating Cyclops since childhood.

He was responsible for Gambit's life nearly being ruined by tricking him into leading the Mutant Massacre.

I'm fairly certain I'm forgetting a couple things. Point is, not even Apocalypse has done even half the horrible things Sinister has. Apocalypse only has like two big things he's done....turned Warren into Death and gave him metal wings, and infected baby Nathan Summers with the Techo Virus, leading to him being sent to the future and returning as Cable. So even Apocalypse's worse deeds ended with two new badass good guy characters. In fact, the most notable thing Apocalypse has done was take over the world in Age of Apocalypse, which didn't even take place in the 616.

Magneto on the other hand, really hasn't done anything of Sinister's level either. Magneto may be a periodic threat to the X-Men, more often than anyone else, but he's never really done anything TOO crazy, except ripping Wolverine's adamantium out.

For me, it's not even a contest. Sinister is not only a heavy hitter, but he's the X-Men's worst, most evil villain.

@bkmeijer - Lol. He's my favorite comic villain. They could do so much with him. And really, he is a schemer, but if they made him like a Thanos style villain of the first series of X-Men movies it would work perfectly. Manipulating and pulling strings behind the scenes.

But even though he's a schemer, he's no slouch physically. He's been kidnapping mutants since the 16th century, and taking the X-Genes from the ones with the most useful powers and giving them to himself. He has every badass power you could ever want. Shape shifting. Teleportation. Telepathy. Psychic. He can shoot energy blasts from his hands. And his entire body is malleable, like the T-1000 from Terminator 2. Physical attacks just put holes in his body that fill themselves in within seconds. So he would also be a huge physical threat aside from just pulling atrings.

@CorndogBurglar - To be fair, Magneto did the whole Planet X thing and killed thousands, including Jean.
