NEW MUTANTS: Henry Zaga Eyed For Sunspot; THE DEFENDERS Star Rosario Dawson In Talks
New Mutants has its Magik & Wolfsbane in Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams, but more casting news reveals who'll be suiting up as Sunspot and the addition of a familiar face to Marvel fans.
Earlier today, it was revealed that New Mutants will head in a very unexpected direction and now Entertainment Weekly has revealed that an actor is being lined up for the role of fan-favourite mutant Sunspot. That is said to be Henry Zaga, an actor best known for Teen Wolf and 13 Reasons Why.
That's a pretty good bit of casting based on the image below and the site adds that they expect him to be announced as Sunspot very soon. We'll have to keep our eyes peeled for that in the near future.
Interestingly, "unconfirmed chatter" reportedly points to The Defenders and The LEGO Batman Movie star Rosario Dawson being in talks for an undisclosed role. Could she be the movie's villain? That remains to be seen, but assuming she and Zaga do join New Mutants, they'll be seen alongside Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane and Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik.
