Earlier today, we told you that there have been rumblings that Rosario Dawson will make the leap from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the X-Men Universe for New Mutants and The Hollywood Reporter has shed some light on who the Iron Fist star will be playing in the Josh Boone helmed release.
That is Dr. Cecilia Reyes, a doctor and former member of the X-Men. She is able to generate a force field that is tied to her life force and the trade reveals that she will serve as a mentor for the young group of heroes in New Mutants. It's also confirmed that James McAvoy's Professor X and Alexandra Shipp's Storm are not in the script, hence why the former won't be taking on that leadership role here.
Dawson is no stranger to the world of comic books after starring in every Marvel series on Netflix, The Lego Batman Movie and the Sin City movies. This would be a great role for her and adds some pretty awesome star power to this highly anticipated release. New Mutants will be released next year.
