Michael Fassbender is a highlight of X-Men: Apocalypse, and this somewhat spoilery new clip from the movie should help you understand why. Confronting some factory workers who have betrayed him, Erik makes it clear that he's now fully embraced his identity as the Master of Magnetism, and what happens next is...well, you're going to have to wait until the movie is released to find that out!

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

As well as returning cast members Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: Apocalypse will also introduce Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Lana Condor, Oscar Isaac, Ben Hardy, Olivia Munn, and a number of others. The movie is set to be released on May 27th, 2016. What do you guys think of this new clip from the movie? Sound off below...

@Clark4President - Aside from the music, that trailer was awesome. I really hope it turns out well.

@MattBellissimo - I'm taking a cautiously optimistic approach, only because it's a videogame movie.
Yeah the music was odd, they risk and lost that one.

Your thoughts on the X-movies aside, Fassbender really is perfect as Magneto. Better than McKellen I'd argue.

He balances rage and smug superiority so well.
