Bryan Singer Calls X-MEN: APOCALYPSE The "True Birth Of The X-Men"

According to director Bryan Singer, after several X-Men films from 20th Century Fox, X-Men: Apocalypse will finally see the "true birth of the X-Men." Comic book fans might be a bit skeptical of these words but we'll all find out if he's right on 05.27.16.

In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has revealed some interesting tidbits on the film; describing it as something of a finale of the six films that came before and a chapter that will give birth to the true X-Men.

"This is kind of a conclusion of six X-Men films, yet a potential rebirth of younger, newer characters.  This is the true birth of the X-Men.  This is how it happens."

X-Men: Apocalypse arrives in theaters on May 27, 2016. The concept art above features a scene of someone disturbing Apocalypse's regeneration chamber/tomb. Singer will be directing his fourth X-Men film in 16 years. Alexandra Shipp will play Storm, Tye Sheridan plays Cyclops, Sophie Turner stars as Jean Grey, Jennifer Lawrence returns as Mystique, as will James McAvoy as Professor X and Michael Fassbender as Magneto.  Oscar Issac will  play the film's titular villain.  In addition, Kodi Smit-McPhee will play Nightcrawler and Olivia Munn has been cast as Psylocke.  Hugh Jackman is rumored to make a cameo as Wolverine.

He didn't say it is the birth to the true X-Men, he said it's the true birth to the X-Men, as in what we saw in X-Men: First Class was not the entire story of how the X-Men came to be.

And by X-Men, he still means his black-leather'd out version.

So Nightcrawler is in this but the X-Men have no Pryor knowledge of meeting him when X-Men 2 comes around.

What difference does that make; the only time we saw them out of black leather was in the future. I still call them black leather'd because that's what we saw in all of the first three movies.

They can have 1.25 redbox rental fee, I won't give Fox full price.

Yeah I've seen it but I thought everything was wiped out except for X-Men:First Class,X-Men:days Of Future Past,X-Men & X-Men 2.

Even if you go by that Logan is the only one to remember what happened in the 60s-80s of the prequel trilogy, wouldn't he remember Nightcrawler from X-Men 2?

And it only took 7 movies to get to the "true" X-Men.

Guess I'll once again be the one positive person on this thread. Since everyone else is too busy making weird rape jokes and fantasizing about what Bryan Singer does in his private life.

I hope we get a teaser at comic con and a full look at Apocalypse. This could easily end up being one of the best cbm's of all time!
