Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse is once again directed by Bryan Singer, and is set to open in theaters on May 27, 2016.

I don't even care anymore. Rewatching Deadpool and First Class makes me realize the lack of love for the X-men comics on Singers part. Seems to like the themes of the comic more than anything.

[frick] THE BLACK SUITS.

@Retribution13 - Kinda surprised Singer understands Superman's character fairly well and gave him a pretty decent, colorful costume yet seems to be reluctant to do much colorful or accurate with the X-Men.

I do wish he was a little bigger on this cover, but the trailer blew me away.

im wondering how on earth the x men are gonna win, i mean not only are they going against apocolypse but also against 2 of the strongest mutants around (magneto and storm) one of which they barely manage to beat by themselves. and they have a pretty weak team of mutants going up against apocalypse and the 4 horsemen, mystique (the most useless of them all), beast, quicksilver, jean (potentially the strongest), nightcrawler, cyclops, prof x,maybe havok (not sure if ive missed anyone else). im looking forward to this but im struggling to see how they can possibly win without jean going all phoenix on apocalypse.

@kinghulk - Mystique can shapeshift into anyone. If the first X-Men film is anything to go by, she can also use their powers as well. She copied Wolverine's claws. So that makes her pretty deadly, don't you think? Quicksilver is technically the most powerful person, since if you can't move fast enough to stop him, you can't beat him. Notice how none of the heroes of Earth 2 have taken down Zoom. It's because, technically, he can't be stopped.

@Luminus - mytique doesent copy powers she shapeshifts, when she copies wolverines claws they get cut off. she is pretty much useless in this scenario

@Luminus -
heres the scene at around 40 second mark wolverine just cuts them off, she's just imitating his appearance not using his powers

@kinghulk - Debatable. Adamantium can cut adamantium, according to The Wolverine movie.

Here are some examples of Mystique's powers in use:

#1: She's clearly using Marrow's powers
#2: She copied some flying, stretching mutant as again is utilizing it's powers
#3: She copied a friggin fighter jet and is using it's abilities

Yeah, pretty dangerous and useful.

And since I don't know you liked you post, I'll have to break out the list to catch them.

if she could do what you suggest surely she would have copied powers more oftern in any of the movies she has been in rather than using her awesome power of kicking people.
kinghulk
kinghulk - 3/25/2016, 2:16 AM
@kinghulk - seemingly she had the power to do what you suggest once in the comics before it being retconed and she has never displayed that power in the movies
Luminus
Luminus - 3/26/2016, 3:02 AM
@kinghulk - What do you mean, "seemingly?" I just showed you iron clad, concrete proof. lol. It's just not clear in the movies, since the only mutants she ever copied was Wolverine, Sebastian Shaw, Storm, Iceman, and Lady Deathstrike, with Wolverine being the only one who's power we're shown her to be using. Those claws are powers. There's no way around that.

Really, we can't be sure, until she copies a mutant again in the movies.

This looks amazing. I've disliked most of the promotional material for this movie so far but this I like.
I wish Apocalypse was bulkier though. He should have that presence that makes him look like he'll beat your ass down without any powers. It seems like in Singer's universe you're not required to look the part unless you're Wolverine. Even Beast is small :[

@slickrickdesigns - That's pretty cool man. Except for the Nightcrawler one, that ones a bit off. Archangel looks better with the blue skin, but still like a Cabbage Patch doll. I know it's set in the 80s but [frick] man, that hair looks ridiculous.
