Jennifer Lawrence Would Be Open To Star In More X-MEN Movies Post-APOCALYPSE

Even though stars James McAvoy & Michael Fassbender are both expected to continue on in their roles following X-Men: Apocalypse, it's been widely rumored that Jennifer Lawrence was ready to move on from Mystique. However, based on recent comments, that may not be the case..

A few months ago, Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbooksuggested that X-Men: Apocalypse would be her last go-round as Mystique. Considering her contract does come to an end following the highly anticipated Bryan Singer-directed film, it wasn't too surprising that the Academy Award-winning actress was ready to move on.

However, following a few weeks of shooting and an extremely warm reception for the X-Men cast at San Diego Comic-Con, it would seem as though Lawrence may have had a change of heart, at least to some extent. Speaking with Yahoo! Movies alongside co-stars James McAvoy (Wanted) and Michael Fassbender (Assassin's Creed), Lawrence told Yahoo!: "I told Fox not to not ask me" This led Fassbender to jokingly reply with "Because you want to have the option to turn them down?" and Lawrence responded in kind: "I kind of want to bait them with a text and then when they call me, I go, ‘Don’t call me!’ and then hang up. I don’t know — I love doing these movies."

Following this light-hearted exchange, Lawrence opened up to discuss what will actually determine whether or not she returns for future X-Men installments and based on her comments, it really seems like it'll be a gametime decision whenever Fox rings her up: "I want them to ask me, and then I’m just going to see how I feel in the moment when they ask. It might not make a lot of sense to a lot of people, but I feel like I’ll know when they ask. If I get a pit in my stomach and feel like I’m going to throw up, I’ll say no. And if I don’t, I’ll ask how much they want to pay me.

Check out her comments for yourself in the video below:

It has all lead to this. All of the battles (both outside and within the group), action, relationships and time travel that the uncanny X-Men have endured have lead to this, their biggest story ever – X-Men: Apocalypse. Following the universe changing events of 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past comes this epic mutant adventure and with it a number of casting opportunities for performers of all ages.

X-Men: Apocalypse will follow the super powered mutants battling their most powerful foe yet, the devious and devastatingly dangerous Apocalypse. This legendary villain uses his incredible abilities to alter his physical form, access other mutant superpowers and telekinesis to recruit a cult-like group called the Four Horsemen to be his servants and do his bidding in an all out war against the X-Men.

I rather not tbh.

Move on to better things J-Law! We don't need Mystique in the forefront now. We got Jean Grey, Storm, hopefully the core ensemble is the focus.

I hope she moves on. J-Law is a fine actress but I don't believe her for a second when she says "I love doing these movies." She seemed bored and annoyed in both films and the trailer for Apocalypse didn't look any different.

Why are all these new xmen movies so damn mystique heavy. i just wish they could balance out the team more. I feel like I know little to nothing about the other xmen.

She truly is one of the best actresses out there. She really gives a lot of emotional depth to the character,
Not that Mystique really needed it, I prefer more mystery but we got what we got, it's not a bad thing when you snag an A List world class talent before she blows up.

I do think Mystique needs a break, and I wouldn't mind if the character stayed but shifted to a supporting role, played by a model type as with Romijn.

if she plays mystique i want her to go full on evil.

i want her to be like mystique in the comics, who hated wolverine so much that when she was told he was needed to save the universe, she basically told the universe to get [frick]ed. lol

let's go full tilt or nothing at all.

No more goddamn Mystique! Whoever decided to give her such a big part in these movies needs to get mauled by a bear.

She's a great actress but Mystique was the worst part of DOFP. She just didn't give a flying [frick] in DOFP.

I think the chemistry she has with Fassbender and McAvoy is very magnetic to watch too!

yeah it is great chemistry but i think it's time to focus on other characters.

Just for the record, the only reason she won an oscar was because she [frick]ed Harley Weinstein.

Mystique needs a break, 200% agreed.

This whole Mystique obsession with Fox is starting to be annoying, well its anoying by now. This is a XMEN franchise, not a Mystique one, and she shouldnt even appear in all movies, she's a secondary character, shouldnt ever be a main player.

Do you just hate her because you're so hipster that you have to hate anything popular?

Oh I totally agree. It's just sad that Vaughn didn't include Jean in First Class and cast Jen in that role, it would've suited her so much more.

i'm assuming you meant harvey weinstein, and if so, that's how Gwyneth Paltrow got her oscar too.

@Reasonnnn

I know she was just really flat in that and First Class.

It's funny she was even more flat in DOFP because I wasn't really sold with Nic as Beast and James as Xavier in First Class but both upped there game in DOFP. James gave no doubt the best performance in the film. Meanwhile Jen came off as bored.

Keep it movin' sweetie. Bye. Especially after your ass wants to complain about the whole Mystique get up which is obviously effecting the character always being in human form. Not once in the new trailer we saw Mystique all we saw was Raven in human form which makes no sense because she's the first one screaming "Mutant and Proud". Get out of here with that mess.
Reasonnnn
Reasonnnn - 7/13/2015, 3:41 PM
@LEVITIKUZ Agreed, although she did seem a bit more engaged in First Class.

McAvoy as Prof X is such an offbeat inspired choice. Loving the decision more and more by the Fox producers.

*Harvey Weinstein

@CherryBomb - I was a fan of hers initially but then I realized what a crazy bitch she is, like how could you like her after seeing that video? She may be cracking jokes but you could tell she meant what she said. She is tasteless.
Maximoff
Maximoff - 7/13/2015, 3:42 PM
So does this mean that the young X-Men are actually gonna be fleshed out and have an important role? :D

Because they were talking of how much the new characters have screen time and that Magneto and Charles are kinda sidelined.
PAF
PAF - 7/13/2015, 3:43 PM
And you wanna give vague hints that it's about money. Stale ass better go back to David O'Russell.

Only if she's willing to take a lesser role. I want to focus on the actual original X-Men.
CherryBomb
CherryBomb - 7/13/2015, 3:45 PM
@AxonnKarr

Her default "human form" is herself without the blue scales and red hair, that's what she does, sure she could look like anybody else but you can either shapeshifter out of the blue skin OR use someone from memory, it would be too much to think about to start from scratch and focus on every detail, so the reason she uses "Jennifer Lawrence" as her default form for 3 decades doesn't bother me so much

"I bet Magneto turns on the X-Men again too."

Very insightful! Did you gather your evidence from the trailer in which Magneto is clearly on Apocalypse's side AGAINST the X-men?

wow,i never even thought of her as jean...but now that i have that looks like a huge missed opportunity.

If anything, Magneto will probably end up siding with the X-men and be the one to fight Apocalypse.
