"I presume [Lawrence and Hoult] are talking about contractually. All of us signed on for a three-film deal, so we’ll just wait and see what happens after this." Fassbender told MTV News.

I'd love for him to stick around but I have a feeling he'll die (along with Mystique) during Apocalypse. They probably want to wrap up using Magneto since he's been in almost every X-Men film. But if he sticks around I'll be happy because I love me some Fassbender!

Fassbender and McAvoy could play their roles for another 10 years and I'd be all in for it. Hearing how much he's a big fan of Oscar's work leads me to believe that their chemistry in the fil wil be monumental. I just wish that Fassbender was a little more built I want to see the guy wearing some armory (or more armory) and if this is a global disaster film I think the characters costumes need to reflect that. Whether it be in an apocalyptic way or defensive way it should show.

Really hope he stays on!

Everyone is leaving Fox, sucks for them. Who else has the feeling that JLaw is eyeing the Captain Marvel role?

@TheAmericanPatriot

I don't think she is. After being stuck in The Hunger Games and X-Men, I think Jen isn't looking to join more big contact binding franchises anytime soon. I think she's going to be after more Oscar type roles and he's been signed on or rumoured for some highly anticipated and potentially critically acclaimed projects.

After Apocalypse. I'd like to see the franchise continue with the younger Cyclops, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, Storm, Jubilee, Angel, etc. with Charles Xavier and Beast in more supporting roles.

I'm afraid this will probably be the end of the roads for Lawrence and Fassbender but they've had a good run.

I really can't think what they will do post Apocalypse. All the best stories (Phoenix Saga, Days of Future Past) have been told, some better than others. There really is no X-Men villain that can top Apocalypse. mister Sinister would be not as epic as Apocalypse. Only thing I can think of right now is a full scale mutant war to finish the franchise. Maybe something to do with Genosha. But then again, this sort of did happen in X3.

I am a huge fan of the X-Men but I can not wrap my head around the timelines following DOFP. It would probably be best to carry on with the spinoffs for now (Deadpool, Wolverine, Gambit) and have some X-Men in supporting roles.

I actually would not mind the character of Magneto leaving the franchise.
He's had a great run but the X-Men can survive on their own without him.

As for Mystique, luckily she's easy to recast

@TheGodButcher

At this point in Jen's career she can do ANYTHING, I don't rule her out doing more CBM's in the future but I just can't see her talking more roles that require multi picture deals and more action movies, unlike Scarlett I don't think she's looking to be the next action heroine

I need a white haired Mags. Not grey haired older gentleman, Mags. McKellan can't be topped. But a young, spry, jacked Magneto. With white hair.

@CameronGray I think they said that they would be interesting in re-doing the Dark Phoenix Saga considering how they handled it the first time in Last Stand. They're interested in doing a more faithful adaptation

Fassbender is one of the primary reasons why First Class despite its flaws ended up being one of my favourite movies with X-Men in the title, if not my favourite. Sadly I never felt that DoFP managed to live up to the promise of First Class.

We'll see how Apocalypse does, and what Fassbender does.

Yeah the next step for after Apocalypse is for the next movie to be more personal, involve the characters a lot more, so that the issue doesn't look ridiculous when compared to Apocalypse

Fassbender is a great Magneto, but I think it's time to phase him out. This will be the 6th X-Men movie with Magneto. Mystique should also be phased out.

I still can't believe they changed his outfit. The one that showed up for 5 seconds at the end of First Class was awesome, but then they replaced it in DoFP with that goofy-looking thing instead.
