Tom Hardy Eyed For 'Apocalypse' Role In X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Tom Hardy is very much in demand right now, as he fields offers for both Marvel's Doctor Strange and DC Comics' Suicide Squad. However, The Wrap now reports that the former is looking very unlikely due to that fact that he is fielding an offer from 20th Century Fox to play Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse, Bryan Singer's highly anticipated follow-up to X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's far from a done deal at this point of course, but it's an exciting prospect, especially when you think back to his take on Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. As both Suicide Squad and X-Men: Apocalypse come out in the same year, he'll likely be forced to choose one or the other and the former sounds more like a sure thing right now. Who would you guys most like to see Hardy play?

I'm not sold on Hardy being in Suicide Squad as he's already been a character in a DC property (but I suppose that didn't stop Chris Evans being Captain America after Human Torch)... so this would be cool.

I would agree with your statement, but it's all about perception, @staypuffed. I have a feeling, because of the names attached to these projects, the DCCU is going to be vastly dissimilar to that of the one that was presented in MOS, and by extension (due to the crew Snyder had around him), the TDK Franchise's tone.



I'm anticipating the upcoming Suicide Squad film to be a lot more colorful, within a more peculiar environment, and should thus be encouraging as a comic book fan, to see such names as Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and of course, Tom hardy, be presumably attached to.

Yeah, I'm hoping that the DCCU feels different to the Dark Knight trilogy (it most likely will). I could take or leave that line-up of Suicide Squad actors, except for Margot Robbie. If WB do not cast her as Harley Quinn it would be a massive waste.

Speaking of DCCU and waste... I'm still waiting for WB to announce that Bryan Cranston's playing Commissioner Gordon. If that doesn't happen, then it's criminal!

Hardy is such a great talent, I will not mad at all if he end being Apocalypse instead Deadshot or Deathstroke.
