Despite the mixed reception to X-Men: Apocalypse, it's safe to say that Bryan Singer and his team outdid themselves with Quicksilver, crafting a scene that one-upped the character's original appearance in Days Of Future Past. Highlights of the scene featuring the speedy mutant rescuing the inhabitants of Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters have now made their way online in the form of a new TV spot, which you can watch below. Did you enjoy Quicksilver's standout moment? Sound off below!

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Nice. Now no one needs to go to the theatre

@Magus - Hahaha, it isn't the full scene, just a spot, I edited the title.

@Magus -

It was a good flick. Had some great comedic moments as well some pretty powerful scenes (namely Magneto's family, the steel mill scenes). It had its flaws in Apocolypse and some of the Horsemen. But it was a good. By the way, Fox Quicksilver >>>>>> MCU Quicksilver.

@regularmovieguy - I disagree. I found it terrible and full of plot holes. The only redeeming quality is Jean and Scott. They overdid Quicksilver in an attempt to beat Flash to the big screen. I don't even want to sit here and explain my problems because it would take too long and I'm on my phone.

@Magus -

The plot and villain's motivations became muddled and convoluted as the movie went on. But I think the characters really outshines the movies flaws. Jean, Scott, Nightcrawler, McAvoy, Fassbender, Peters all turned in great performances. And yeah I'm on my phone too and I hate typing this shit out.

@regularmovieguy - Fassbender and McAvoy are amazing and definitely are a positive. They just didn't have anything compelling to do. Fassbender loses his family by an accidental misfire of an arrow. Gets mad. Slaughters probably a Billion people all over the world. Gets over his family. Xavier is like "it's all good, buddy. Let's have a light lunch then you can go on your way". These actors deserve so much more.

@regularmovieguy - also why is Apocalypse a hair stylist? He literally gave Storm, Angel, and Professor X new hairstyles... He was more concerned about everyone's hair than his plan.

@regularmovieguy - Uh.... No. Singers Peter being greater than Whedons Pietro is a common sentiment ONLY because of how beautiful his on screen appearances are aesthetically.

When I "Dumb it down" and just watch the movie to have fun, which is what I do with all of the Fox X films(as an X-Men fan I wouldn't be able to watch them at all if I didn't), QSs scenes are [frick]ing amazing. Possibly the best scenes of the entire franchise. And Evan Peters plays the character that he was given to a T. He's awesome. Even when he's standing still. His levity was the highlight of Apocalypse for me. But that's not Quicksilver.

First off; Quicksilver is a brooding, selfish prick. Which makes sense in context because he moves and views the world around him so much faster than everyone else. Nobody can keep up. That's the character from the books. Secondly; How [frick]ing fast is this kid(Singers iteration)? Either he just has super speed, which seems completely unlikely given the fact that anyone that could move that fast would create all kinds of paradoxes, or he has super speed AND time manipulation powers. I think they played it right in DoFP, showing him moving in slow motion or at a normal speed with time slowed down, but in Apocalypse he's literally moving at super speed inside of his super speed time slowed down thing. Yeah, it's extremely fun to watch, but it's absolutely ridiculous how OP he is when you actually think about it.

Whereas Whedons Quicksilver definitely isn't as much fun, he's assuredly the better representation of the character. And he's more realistic. He gets winded when he runs, he's not the omnipotent all powerful god that Singers Quicksilver is. I mean come on. He saved like a hundred kids and a dog in the span of what less than 2 seconds? And he had time to stop and do some funny stuff in between, and he had time to search the entire huge ass mansion to make sure he got everybody out. "Pretty sure I got them all". When they were asking where Havok was.

As far as characters go, Evan Peters is definitely the more fun, cooler to watch character, but as far as Quicksilvers go, Whedon definitely made the better one.

@Spock0Clock - it's hard to believe a dude from Egypt is in to white Mohawks and undercuts. I guess he got a lot of MTV while he was channel surfing.
Magus

Speaking of that TV scene, how does a dude from ancient Egypt have the power to interface with technology or hijack cable TV? Does that mean he took the body of someone with that power in thousands of years ago, before there was technology? So basically Apocalypse was like "I need to switch bodies with this guy who seemingly has no powers for some reason"... This movie is a plot black hole.

@urnotaslave23 - exactly, he puts superman to shame. If the bomb in BvS went off, qs could have saved everybody.

@hartley07 - Everybody. AND he would have brought some much needed light heartedness to it.

@Magus - I would like to read your problems with it. About Apocalypse being a hairstylist. Storm already had the Mohawk. All he did was change it white, which looks like it happened as a side effect of increasing her power, just like Xavier lost his hair as a side effect of getting the power increase during the possession. Even if Apocalypse did it purposefully, Egyptians were known to care very much about appearance.

LMFAO! easily one of the best scene of the movie, Singer toped the one from DOFP imho! :)
Magus
Magus - 6/1/2016, 6:50 AM
@Doomsday8888 - It's all too much though. The guy stops time here and is still moving hypersonic with time slowed to a stop. This is Flash.
Luminus
Luminus - 6/2/2016, 12:41 AM
@Magus - No. He's moving fast, then just speeds up. That's why you see the skin on his face rippling. It's because he's running at max speed. It would be like you jogging past a statue. When you start sprinting, the statue is still going to be frozen. If you got in a car, the statue stays the same, just blurrier. I could still just get on a bullet train and go even faster. Even still, I could get on a plane and go yet faster. We could all board the starship Enterprise and go to warp and, really, what would you expect to change? Time can't get more frozen than frozen.

He does this same thing in DOFP. And, yes, that does pretty much make him unbeatable. There really isn't any reason Apocalypse should've been able to break his leg, when he can't move fast enough. But for sake of plot...

Great scene? It was a rehash of his same scene in days of future past.

Evan Peters' Quicksilver is a fun character, but he's way too powerful to not solve every problem all by himself, and he's also not really Quicksilver. He's just a generic Mercurial speedster with a generic Mercurial attitude.
