X-MEN: Famke Janssen Comments On New 'Jean Grey' Potentials

Janssen, who has appeared as Jean Grey in 5 previous X-Men movies, had no idea who was in line to play the younger version of the character in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse. When MTV fills her in she seems happy enough, though she doesn't see a big resemblance!

As we know, Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass, Carrie) Elle Fanning (Super 8, Maleficent) and Hailee Steinfeld (Ender's Game, True Grit) are the three actresses (that we've been made aware of so far) in line to play the younger version of telepathic mutant Jean Grey in the next installment in the X-franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse. Whoever lands the role will have their work cut out to follow the stunning Famke Janssen, who has done a fine job as the character in 5 of the previous films. When MTV asked the actress if she was aware of who's in the running, she says she's heard of all of them but, in Fanning's case particularly, doesn't see much of a resemblance. Janssen also says it's a little bittersweet knowing that she's being replaced in the role, but that maybe she could return and act alongside whoever is cast someday. Well, that worked in Days Of Future Past after all!

After xmen: apocalypse they should return back to the normal time stream. I'd like to see a whole trilogy of xmen films that feature the galactic side of the xmen. It'd be awesome to see the shiar empire in a trilogy of films and feature Lilandra and Xavier falling in love. Show lilandra and her psycho brother and sister. There's so much to draw inspiration. All fox has to do is translate those into films.

Hailee Steinfeld is the best one for Jean out of those listed, imo.

I agree that Hailee fits a younger famke more.

But I like the idea of Elle playing young Jean too, she has something that reminds me of the young, rich and classy Jean of the early 60s comics. So Id be fine with any of them two

Out of those 3, I would have to choose Moretz. But none of them really pop out as perfect for the role. I don't know too many actresses in the age range that they're going for, so it'll be interesting to see what other names pop up.

But DAMMIT!!! I'm gonna miss Famke. When XMen came out in 2000 when I was 12, man, Famke was a goddess. She's still damn [frick]able, too.

I say recast and basically do a semi reboot of a modern day franchise after Apocalypse wraps up. They can always have the younger cast come back and basically make inbetweequels for other story arcs if they really wanted to. But to save less money and time I would strongly suggest a new director, cast and producer for whatever new trilogy follows after Apocalypse's run. The Phoenix Saga involving the Shi'ar Empire is one story line that can just NOT be missed.

Roman Polanski and Woody Allen have one thing in common with each other... THEY BOTH MAKE GREAT MOVIES! :D

It's Roman Polanski (convicted of raping a child in the 70's), and Woody Allen (cheated on his wife with like a 14 year old Asian girl andended up marrying her)
