Fox To Release Extended "Rogue Cut" Of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Next Year

20th Century Fox have confirmed plans to release an extended version of X-Men: Days of Future Past next year which they are calling the "Rogue Cut" as Anna Paquin's cut scenes and more will all be added back into the movie. Shameless cash grab or a must-buy? Read on for details...

Were you disappointed that Rogue was cut from X-Men: Days of Future Past? Well, you'll be able to see her scenes inserted into the "inbetweenquel" when a "Rogue Cut" is released next summer. Simon Kinberg made the announcement today at a press event which Variety attended. Apparently, more than 10 minutes of extra footage will be added to the movie and it will include both Anna Paquin's scenes and ones involving other characters too. "It’s a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie," the writer and producer said of Rogue's cut scenes. "We want to give (fans) the fullest picture of the film — behind the camera, and in front of it. Every movie has scenes that are cut out, but not every movie has scenes cut out with such a beloved character." Kinberg has said that he regrets seeing her taken out of X-Men: Days of Future Past numerous times and added here that it didn't make it into the theatrical version because it was already "full of plots and subplots." Oh, and it doesn't sound as if we should expect to see any more time travel in X-Men: Apocalypse after Kinberg added: "It’s the most complicated movie I’ve ever worked on. I pray to God I never work on another time travel movie." Will you guys hunt down a copy of the "Rogue Cut"?

I have to say this is a cash grab because The Wolverine included an extended cut when if first came on blu ray.

At least we have some articles covering CBM news. I'll take that all day long!

And I will be holding out for the Director's Cut on this one. There has to be plenty of featurettes and a grouping of those Power Pieces that were done with Gesaffelstein's "Hate or Glory" as the theme song. I wish that song could have been fit into the movie.

@MrMartinMarvel I agree. This is a shameless cash-grab. They did this with The Wolverine too. I ran up to this HUGE Wolverine fan at the store one day and he told me he took his son to see The Wolverine and witness an epic battle between ninjas and Wolverine. He said he was disappointed in the theaters and his son called Wolverine a sissy. That was his son's first superhero movie too. The father is depressed that his son is not a Wolverine fan like him. He tried getting him the comics where he is a true bada** but his son refused after watching the Fox-Men movies because they portray Wolverine as a weakling who crys and gets beat up by everyone that's not a normal human. I felt bad for him. All he wanted to see was Wolverine rip apart a few ninjas, but fox doesn't care about the fans.

"Shameless cash grab or a must-buy?"

I'll go for door number 3, the one with Torrent behind it.

Fool me once...

Still my favorite CBM of 2014 and one of my all time as well, so I can't talk shit about this.

I'll wait for that cut. The one thing that bugged me about that film is that we were supposed to believe that Kitty just sat there in that same position for days on end with no sleep? Cause Logan was in the past for several days. I don't care how much is on the line. It can't be done.

@InfiniteMonkey You're right. It is 90% Wolverine. The funny thing is they devote all this time for one character but they characterize him as a whiner who falls in love with a woman for no reason and gets beat up by everyone. If movie Wolverine didn't have claws he would be a rag doll. In fact, if movie Wolverine had claws but didn't have a healing factor, he would die in any fight because he lacks fight skills.http://media.giphy.com/media/fNBFa6NCMeZJm/giphy.gif

Obvious cash grab. Fox wants DOFP to pass X-Men 3 in domestic gross. Don't know how anybody can say otherwise.

If they release it as a DVD then I'll buy it. But if it's a blu-ray exclusive like the r cut of wolverine then I'll be pirating that shit. Still gonna buy the regular cut in a few weeks, but I'm not paying an extra 30+ for a slightly different version.

cash grab...because they didnt make very much the first round (lets rekindle that budget + promotion vs boxoffice discussion), DVD sales suck compared to 5-10 years ago, and Marvel did ZERO merch...

@InfinteMonkey He said he was the best at what he does in X-men: Origins Wolverine. I guess that means he's the best at screaming at the top of his lungs and getting his butt kicked by Victor. Wolverine also says he's coming for blood and chop people's head off, but instead he boxes with Blob. I feel bad for Chris Claremont. He said he watched X-men Origins: Wolverine in theatres with his wife. That must have been an uncomfortable experience.

@ MantiniuMan

you've never read guardians of the galaxy comic book then? read dan abnett & andy lannings run or even the current series by brian michael bendis.

the characters look pretty much the same
slight tweaks to the characters
the humor is a factor in the comics as well

but its marvel studios isn't it,so of course you're gonna hate it.
