As many of you are aware, Quicksilver was not the Bryan Singer's first choice to break Magneto out of Pentagon prison cell. The original planned called for a Young Juggernaut to help out, but Singer and the rest of his team had a change of heart. Though, they were extremely close to going with Juggernaut as they had costume designs illustrated for the character and more importantly an actor cast in the part. That actor? Josh Helman, who portrayed a young William Stryker in the film, was originally set to play the role of a young Juggernaut. He even trained for four weeks, adding 30 pounds of muscle. Well, at least he ended getting a role in the film even though it wasn't the one he originally planned on. Below, are some new details about the Young Juggernaut scenes we will never get to see. We'll just have to use our imaginations.
As part of the on-going San Diego Comic-Con, earlier this afternoon X-Men: Days of Future Past writer/producer Simon Kinberg participated in a panel solely focusing on the summer blockbuster – and during the conversation he revealed exactly how young Juggernaut was used in earlier drafts of the script. According to Kinberg, the original idea was to have the character fly up in a jet with Xavier, Wolverine and Beast and hover 20,000 feet above the Pentagon. From there, Juggernaut would have leapt out of the plane and used his special abilities to blast himself through the ground and access Magneto’s prison cell. The writer added that Wolverine was going to follow Juggernaut’s path and smash every bone in his body once hitting the ground (though obviously he would use his healing powers to regenerate and survive the fall). - cinemablend.com
The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past will be directed by Bryan Singer ("Usual Suspects"). The cast includes: Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Daniel Cudmore, Booboo Stewart, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing, Evan Jonigkeit, Adan Canto and Josh Helman, X-Men: Days Of Future Past hits UK cinemas on May 22 and US cinemas the following day.

The Wolverine thing would have been dumb. First off, why would he put himself through that amount of pain. Second, I'm not so sure he would've been able to reheal after turning into some bloody, gory mess when hitting the ground. But look at me, complaining about logic flaws for a scene that wasn't even filmed.

Glad they changed it cause we already saw Juggernaut smashing through walls in The Last Stand so it's nothing new. Plus it's similar to Colossus' dive later in the film, which I'd rather see Colossus do then Juggernaut. Quicksilver was much better.

Quicksilver scene was awesome.
Juggernaut would've not looked as cool visually.

Just wish that Scarlet Witch was in that scene too :(

Except, Juggernaut is unstoppable once in motion. So, wouldn't he bust right through the Earth's crust into the molten core, and possibly out the other-side?

I wonder why they switched to Quicksilver (looks back in history...)

Dinotron, or maybe Singer came up with a really cool way for Quicksilver to bust Magneto out instead, which it was. But your conspiracy theory works too.

Yannow dropping Juggernaut from a plane to crash into something, gives him the excuse to don his signature dome helmet, at least for that scene. Treated as a weighted bullet. It'll then be practical. AND pleasing to the fanboys. Maybe they can include that in a future installment.

Quicksilver replacing Juggernaut was an incredibly clever move, not only because it looked better but because it made the breakout more of a sequence of events in the film, rather than a quick, passing moment. I just wish they'd done a bit more with the character, not only did his power look great but Evan Peters played him really well, so it was a shame that he only really appeared as a plot-device in that one scene (albeit with a brief appearance later in the film, and some character building beforehand). He could have easily contributed to the finale.

Looking forward to seeing him in the sequel - if someone would've told me a few months ago that Quicksilver would be a highlight in the movie, and that the movie itself would've been as brilliant as it was, I never would have believed them.
