Quicksilver Concept Art For X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Concept artist, Henry Fong ("Pacific Rim"), updated his site with concept art for X-Men: Days of Future Past. These prop designs are for Quicksilver's musical device he uses while listening to Jim Croce's Time In A Bottle during the Pentagon kitchen scene.

When director Bryan Singer ("The Usual Suspects") announced that X-Men: Days of Future Past would include 'Quicksilver' and that Evan Peters ("Kick-Ass") would play the role many people, such as myself, were skeptical. The timing of the announcement seemed especially odd since we already knew Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron had decided to use the speedy-mutant as well. But all doubt surrounding Singer's intentions were tossed out the window when audiences were blown away by the film's Pentagon scene. 'Quicksilver' stole the show as he zipped along the walls of the Pentagon's kitchen with a gleeful smile as he protected his new allies: Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy). Below, are designs for the character's customized stereo belt.

Like his style, cool stuff...remember all the flack QS got when his first image was released, guess he changed a lot of opinions in the movie, funny how that happens around here, huh?

He still looked terrible, but it was accepted because he was quirky and awesome...

Still better than the other Quicksilver.

Boring awkward scene that took me out of the movie.

I would have preferred more time with future X-Men, particularly Magneto, because they were all great talents [frick]ing wasted as background scenery.

I actually like this a lot. It pays homage to the comic and still adds the teen elements. Wish this was the final :(

Yeah how can people compare him to avengers quicksilver? Who will be amazing by the way! So excited! Doesn't mean I didn't like dofp quicksilver they are just different, good in their own ways. Why do people always have to compare can't they just enjoy it all and have a lot more stuff to watch and enjoy than nit pick

Say what you will about DOFP Quicksilver, but at least he's not missing two central elements of what makes the character Quicksilver.

Are people really judging Marvel's Quicksilver over just a couple set pics? I suppose they are also judging Ultron from these pics too?

I'd still like to know how he's listening to the music in normal speed while going fast enough to essentially have bullets at a stand still.

Aside from that nitpicking twas the best scene in the movie hands down.

Didn't he push fastforward on the tape instead of play? I think he was rocking the music at high speed.

I know its been said, and these movies are entertaining (some of them anyway), but fox and their directors just use the names and powers of these characters, then give them completely different personalities. wolverine, magneto, and xavier are good, but i don't think iceman has cracked a joke in the three movies he's been in, Cyclops wasn't a leader and was portrayed as a pushover, and again the Havok situation. Storm sure as well wasn't the proud african goddess she's supposed to be, and i still don't know what the hell is going on with mystique. Then they have the ages. why is beast 50 and a secretary in the presidency, cyclops and jean around 30, Bobby's 20 something in the last film and younger before. and angel has had one cameo and gone. Rogue was a whiney little girl, and not the spitfire red head in the comics. i could keep this rant going but ill spare you all. Fox bases script and story on the popularity of the actors portraying the characters and take liberties in changing them, maybe its to appeal to the masses but marvel seems pretty good at staying pretty close to the comics and their sales are adequate to say the least. All this does is alienate the fans of the comics that have been around since well before the movies. they may be entertaining but they are not the X-men. Reboot with the original 5, and go from there

Finally saw DoFP -
Really liked it, though it stole from other cbms and even other XMEN movies.

Fassbender is awesome. I'd like to see more of him as magneto.

Isn't the stereo belt a little redundant since he moves so quick? Like in the scene above only a flash of a second has gone by, he'd only listen to like 1 second of a song.

So how does Peter listens to music running as fast as he does? Makes no sence... Neither does the 1970s technology to crelate the iSentinel when super computers at the time could fill a room... How did magneto control the iSentinels again? Railroad tracks?
Kyos
Kyos - 10/19/2014, 10:37 AM
Good character, good scene - as long as you do NOT think deeper about anything concerning him, be it his super-speed music player or his role (or lack thereof) in the movie and the bigger X-movie continuity.
