Shawn Ashmore is known for playing Bobby Drake in the X-Men films, and he recently spoke with Queen Latifah. He has always seemed like a cool guy, and he is definitely not being cold towards Queen Latifah. Watch the video to hear what he has to say, or read the transcript below!

Queen Latifah: What is it like to go to a screening, after you’ve done all this work, jumped around, all kinds of stunts and everything, and then you see- that guy. You see Iceman come on.

Shawn Ashmore: It’s like magic. It is that movie magic thing because we shoot those action sequences over weeks. So it’s like piece by piece, bit by bit, shot by shot. You never really know what it’s going to look like, and this is a perfect example: The first time I played Iceman, the director was like, “Okay, so, you have to like make this motion, (he moves his arms) and ice is going to shoot out of your hands.” And I went home, and I was talking to my brother, and I was like, I was in front of a mirror with him, “Does this look stupid? Like, am I going to look like a fool? You know?

Queen Latifah: So you’re practicing your… (she gestures with her hands)

Shawn Ashmore: Yeah, and so you go one set, in front of like, all these people, and you finally do it, and you’re kind of embarrassed, and you’re not sure what it looks like, and then you see it on the big screen. Then you see it with the effects and everything together, and you’re like, this is what it’s all about.

Do you agree that Ashmore seems like a cool dude? Do you think he looks like a fool? Sound off in the comments!

This dude is lucky he got the part of Bobby in X-Men. His career didn't really go anywhere after that. I bet he's begging for Iceman to be written into every X-Men script because other wise he has to do Syfy original shows.

He's a really cool guy. (No pun intended) I remember watching the premiere for the film when it was screened in New York and he seemed t be pretty thankful that he was able to returns to the role. Very generous guy all around.

I can say the same for Evans, Mackie, Ruffalo and Pratt as well! Of course there's others but those are my primary stand out guys from the MCU

He apparently understands something Megan Fox never could - If you can't act, don't criticize the film makers.

Every single X-men film has been mediocre AT BEST. All the characters you see on film are just hollowed out versions of the source material

I like Shawn and I believe he made a great Iceman. But I'm hoping X-Men: Apocalypse reboots the original X-Men and we have all 5 original characters in that one as it should had been from the start. That does mean reconfiguring some history AGAIN. Hopefully Singer gets it right this time and builds up the X-universe instead of tearing it down like he did by killing everyone from First Class that didn't fit into DOFP. Killing off Banshee, Nightcrawler's father AND Emma Frost was a sin to the entire series.

@String

I await the day when we get the original five X-Men, with all new actors. Also, can we have an Iceman with an actual personality and sense of humor? Iceman is one of the best X-Men ever and films did him absolutely no justice, nor did they to his powers which kick ass.

You don't think Iceman could become one of the most popular toys and merchandise items with kids? Think again!

Yeah, it's really magical watching all the X-tras being butchered or being punching bags in every fox-men film. But hey, Wolverine saves the [frick]ing day every time. Movie sucked.

I finally saw DOFP last night. It was about what I expected. Same old foX-Men.

I did however enjoy seeing the future sentinels take everyone out both times lol.

I have a question that I'm hoping someone knows the answer to....Batman v Superman was coming out May 6th 2016, and X-men: Apocalypse is coming out May 27th 2016 right? so, why do we have TONS of info and images on Batman v Superman and next to NOTHING on X-men: Apocalypse? most of the Batman v Superman info released was BEFORE the date change. just wondering if ANYTHING has been heard on X-men: Apocalypse...last I heard, Channing Tatum wasn't even confirmed as Gambit yet.
