Why The 'Beast/Mystique' Scenes Were Cut From X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Though we saw some stills featuring Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) looking pretty cosy in the build-up the movie's release, those scenes never made the final theatrical cut of Bryan Singer's X-Men: DOFP. In an interview with MTV, Hoult explains why..

In X-Men: First Class, the characters of Mystique and beast establish a firm friendship with hints of a more romantic relationship developing at some point. Of course at the end of that movie Mystique puts the kibosh on that by joining Magneto and his not-so-merry band of mutants, but most fans expected something of a rekindling in Bryan Singer's Days Of Future Past. During promotion for the film, some stills made their way online which clearly showed the two blue mutants sharing a few intimate moments -- but obviously we now know any such scenes must have wound up on the cutting room floor. Why? Actor Nicholas Hoult explains all to MTV.

“There were another couple of scenes which got cut, because they didn’t work technically in terms of the geography of how the movie played out in the end. Why [Mystique and Beast] would be here — when the world is about to end — and then we’ve nipped home quickly to have a good night’s sleep. Everyone was like, ‘well, we can’t really do that.’ So there were a couple of extra scenes which got cut, unfortunately.”

But all is not lost for "Beastique" fans. We've already heard that their relationship would be better explored in X-Men: Apocalypse, and Hoult confirms as much: “I think they’ll try and figure out a way to develop it more in the next one.” In fact, The Irish Mirror claims things are to get pretty steamy for Hank and Raven, with some love scenes on the agenda. I'd take that with a big pinch of salt though, as it sounds more like speculation...and it's exactly the type of thing tabloids like to report on without any real evidence to back it up.

"or better yet Falcon who has no pet Falcon or link to Falcon..."

marvel cinematic universe is a combination of the 616/ultimate universe & probably some other marvel earths.

yes falcon had a falcon in the 616 universe but the design of the falcon in the winter soldier was based on the ultimate universe design which didn't have a link or pet falcon.

nice try though.

Halle Berry is an oscar winner too. Just pointing that out to anyone that thinks winning an oscar means anything.

Singer's editing instincts shall forever remain in question after cutting this from SR and open instead with the old lady scene.

Who cares about past awards or acting skills when the movie's story is compromised to milk out her popularity.
DOFP was a snooze fest in large part to the focus on JLaw and her lame character.

Like Omega said, it was an x-men movie without x-men (except for being annihilated in the future).

So in your scenario would mutants lose their powers? What if the dude Storm had sex with had also banged a mutant before having sex with Storm? Would Storm lose her mutant powers and get whatever powers that mutant had? I think it is an interesting idea and it def. reminds me of Misfits. And what multiple people sex? If a girl has two dudes at the same time whose power would she contract and give to the next person if both dudes entered at the same time? What about same gender sex? Would the mutant gene contracted through the exchange of bodily fluids? So people could spit in each other's mouths or make out and contract it right? Lots of questions. lol

I can explain why the scene was cut.
So when the "Extended, extended Super-Long this is the Real Version, Honest!"
Directors Cut comes out they can show Jennifer Lawrence in the commercials for it. Should be releasing around the same time as Mockingjay hits Blu-Ray.

Mystery solved. Your welcome.

Wow, if you are into geriatric Hank Pyms who have erectile dysfunction then you will love the new Ant-Man film! But for some reason I don't like that story as much as your other idea. I will say you have created a very niche market, people who don't read comics, homosexuals, and people with slight mental retardation would really like it. Keep the stories coming, remember there are not stupid ideas just stupid people!
