BOND 25: Potential Danny Boyle Replacements Include STAR TREK 4 Director S.J. Clarkson

Could S.J. Clarkson become the first female director to helm a Star Trek flick and a James Bond movie?

According to Variety, Clarkson is one of three filmmakers currently on the studio's radar to replace Danny Boyle in the Bond 25 director's chair. The others are American Animals helmer Bart Layton and White Boy Rick's Yan Damage, who was reportedly a strong contender before Boyle landed the job.

At this point, it sounds like Damage might be the front-runner - although the trade stresses that "more meetings could be made," so it's probably far from a done deal.

At any rate, MGM and Eon will need to make their decision soon enough if they want to keep the current production schedule on track.

The (arguably and IMO) best modern director is available and interested

WHY IS THIS "CONVERSATION" NOT HAPPENING

All bold and fresh choices IMO, worth the shot.

Off-topic: superglad Netflix picked up Designated Survivor for a 3rd Season just like they did with Lucifer.

SJ Clarkson has only directed TV, and Yann and Bart seem like serviceable directors.

I'm sure any of these 3 could direct a great Bond film (or a mediocre one) but none right now are particularly exciting.

@ELAYEM - you do know the russo brothers directed tv shows also before directing marvel films

@cyclopsprime - Yup. That’s why I said these directors could direct a great Bond film. There’s a chance. But as of right now they aren’t particularly exciting.

Clarkson could go the way of the Russos (great) or the way of Alan Taylor (bad)

It needs a reboot. We need a new Bond already. Craig looks so worn out and dull in it.

@BlackBeltJones - Need to watch this.

White Boy Rick looks insane! I love it watching the trailer on the big screen. It's very well edited and put together 👍

@BlackBeltJones - So his last name is Demange as per your pic and not Damage as in the article?😉

Bond needs a rebirth after the Craig era. A fresh new perspective. Spectre had me bored.

Why are they wasting their time when they can just give us the Nolan reboot starring Tom Hardy?
