NO TIME TO DIE Dominates The International Box Office And Even Manages To Top SKYFALL In The UK

No Time to Die may not have debuted in North America yet, but Daniel Craig's final James Bond movie is drawing huge numbers overseas and even looks set to beat the opening of 2012's Skyfall. Check it out!

No Time to Die was delayed multiple times due to COVID-19, but it seems MGM and EON Productions made the right decision to wait until the worst of the pandemic passed. While it won't open in the U.S. until next Friday, Daniel Craig's final James Bond movie has started rolling out internationally, and is off to a great start.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that after a solid $27.2 million haul on Friday for what looks like a 3-day $51.4 million total, No Time to Die is set to score a whopping $113 million international debut from 54 markets (it opened on Wednesday night in many countries).

It's worth noting this is also the first $100+ million debut of any movie that opened during COVID-19.

No Time to Die's most impressive feat, however, that it set opening day records in the UK on Thursday with $6.6 million. From there, the movie scored the country's third-highest Friday ($7.6 million) ever for October, and should ultimately open to $30 million after $14.2 million those first two days. As a result, it's set to top Skyfall, a movie that opened long before the pandemic!

This and Venom: Let There Be Carnage serve as proof that theater-exclusive releases are the best possible move for studios in this "pandemic era," so expect fewer day-and-date releases in 2022.

In our review of No Time to Die, we said: "No Time to Die is the perfect James Bond movie; action-packed, satisfying, and surprisingly heartfelt, Cary Joji Fukunaga proves an ideal fit for this franchise and helps make sure Daniel Craig, who is phenomenal here, ends his tenure as 007 in style."

Have you guys had the chance to watch No Time to Die on the big screen yet?

Always good to see the cinemas thriving. I just wish I liked this film more. Really underwhelming.

@WakandanQueen - Can you give us a little more detail on why?

@DoubleD - Saw it 3 days ago in the UK and can back up @WakandanQueen on the film being underwhelming.

Felt overly long, the story was very convoluted, character motivations were often confusing and Safin was incredibly wasted (had 10-15 mins of screen time).

Last, but not the least - Craig's dialogue and delivery of lines felt very awkward and unnatural, especially in the first half of the film.

It's slightly better than Spectre and MILES better than QoS, but doesn't hold a candle to the kings - Casino Royale and Skyfall.

I think the downfall of this film will be mainly the way everyone overhyped it.

7/10.

@batman001 - Might have something there. No one is coming on this story to comment.

@DoubleD - Honestly, aside from Ana de Armas, pretty much everything fell short. And even Ana de Armas was in it for what felt like 5 minutes max!

@batman001 - Here in the UK, EVERYONE is talking about it.

Posters on buses, billboards, etc as well.

@WakandanQueen - Agree. It was unforgivably boring.

All the same problems as Spectre in my opinion.

@528491 - Just saw it, kinda fun but bloated movie.

Side note, there is a black female 007 in it. This site is going to implode so hard the internet will collapse in on itself.

@kylo0607 - Dude i'm from and i'm currently living in the UK and I saw no posters on buses and only one major TV channel talking about the film and even that was done just two days before the films release over here in the UK and all of this was done with no people talking about the film before hand.

@kylo0607 - theatrical only movies are thriving. While WB is losing milions because of their HBO MAX/theaters strategy.

The demand is crazy. My cinema has 3 films showing, about 3 screens apiece for Shang Chi n Many Saints, the other 30 all to No Time To Die

Good to hear. Too bad I need to wait for November 11 for its Australian release, that is if my state isn't locked down by then.

Saw the film exclusively with a friend, and it's a solid conclusion to the Daniel Craig era IMO.

Good action with the twists and turns, especially with a certain character, but a bit boring in some areas and long as hell.

A lot of emotional moments especially with Daniel Craig's performances. I remember being pissed about his casting back in 2005 and now he's been a true champion to the Bond name, giving us grit and realism to the super spy becoming one of my favorites. I'm going to miss this era.
