"Dragonball Reborn" Sequel Talk Already

In an interview with Justin Chatwin, he says a script for the dragonball sequel is already being written. It will be called Dragonball Reborn.

Dragonball: Evolution, the first live-action adaptation of the popular manga, hasn’t even hit our screens yet, but the script for a proposed sequel has already been written, according to Justin Chatwin, who plays Goku in the upcoming film.

Speaking to SciFiNow last month, the 26-year-old actor said that he was signed on for potential sequels, and that he was excited about the prospect: “If there were to be a sequel I think it… well, I know that it would go to a really interesting place, because they already have the second script written.” When pressed for details, Chatwin revealed a little more about the direction of the celluloid version of the franchise. “It’s really, really cool. The second one goes more into the whole legacy and the genealogy of Dragonball. It goes more in-depth into a real Dragonball series, the kind of intergalactic world of Dragonball.”

My choice for vegeta will have to be Jonathan Rhys Myers.

Ian McKellen as Lord Vegeta?...hell no. And that pic of King Vegeta, his shoes are supposed to be blue...just throwing that out there. Although, I do like the maroon look better =)

I like the idea of Jonathan Rhys Myers playing vegeta. But im not sure about Ian McKellen for king vegeta. im off to find someone else. any of you got ideas ?

ya but in the sequal reco, how would they make justin chatwin look like hes 25, plus is they wanna stay somewhat true to the anime and manga, he has to have gohan be around, so maybe like 28 but idk how theyd make chatwin look 28! do u agree?

eh... maybe w/ Glover but i think he's an outstanding actor. Man i miss him on smallville! lol i hated him but i loved him too! He's the best actor on there... thats not saying much. Rosenbaum is 2nd. anyway! i think they should just leave King Veggietales out. idk its just really really hard (giggidy) to come up w/ other cast members when we've been given this crap load of actors! its like baseball (i guess. its the best i could think of) you don't want a little league team with like 2 dream team players! horrible ANALogy! ha i sneeked a dirty word!

I know Recoswava, I just hate it so much that I can just hope. Anyway IF they do make reborn (I'm rooting that they don't and that DBE flops big time) without Krillin or Gohan, most of the DBZ sagas have a lot missing from them. If Chatwin remains for the sequel, well... if he has a baby... that'd be a movie that promotes teen-pregnancies. Seeing how they are handling the whole thing, they'll probably cast someone else for Goku and keep chatwin as Gohan...

good point noob. man, as much as i've wanted to see this happen since i was younger, i just can't approve of mostly anything about this movie! i mean, don't get me wrong, it's been greatly approved upon since the days of yellow piccolo lol but its just kinda disappointing! Its almost like someone gave Uwe Bol(spl) 54 mil or something and said here make this movie but put someone else's name as the director!

John Glover seems too old and wimpy to be king vegeta, kind of like how Willem Dafoe looked for Green Goblin.The actor would have to be mature of age with the image that he can actually break you in half.After all he is the king of saiyans,but no one comes to mind. Jonathan Rhys Myers could actually work as vegeta.

well, you say that Akira Toriyama said he liked it, that is misunderstanding his words, just as if I said that he hates it. All he said was that his first impression was that he didn't understand what they were doing, and later he said that it was different from his creation and something from a parallel universe and that HOPEFULLY it would be a masterpiece, considering that everyone was working so hard on it. That sounds like a fairly diplomatic answer, neither saying he hates it or that he loves it, just saying to wait for the result.

You do realise that the sea-monkey head that was leaked will be used? even though someone once said they weren't (I haven't seen the source for the statement saying they won't use it) it looks way to finished to just trash it, and that looks horrible. Look at the trailer, they have been careless and Piccolo's arm is pink under the glove and we get to see it.

And I do think that they have changed the whole story so much, that if they do make a sequel, it will be so much worse. If in this one they have Goku in high School, no Krillin, Piccolo killing grandpa Gohan, Roshi fighting using Tai-Chi (the martial art used by housewives and arthritic old men in China), etc. Well I don't want to know what the sequel will be like.

Why do all the DBE fans get so angry when someone has a different opinion? I have asked in many DBE posts to debate my points of view, no one does that. They just say that I'm a hater, the whole point of my posts here is to discuss what I think, and maybe I'll see something different that will make me want to rent it, instead of waiting for it to be aired on Fox.

also im gunna throw this out there, its appearing to be the new movie trend after comic books movie. this being movies based on anime i mean, and i just hope they dont screw up any more great anime (im not saying they screwed up Dragonball). i wanna see these movie be treated with respect and with good directors! o and to stay true to the plot. but sometimes u have to change the plot to make it fit into live action now that i think about it. i just want good movies. like a sick ass neon genesis evangelion live action movie!!!! itd be confusing as [frick] just like the anime but itd be awsome!

Reco I find yours, and SGAs, dedication to this movie despite the overwhelming public opinion against it admirable. It takes a lot of gale to support something that everyone else is attacking all the time.

However, you also need to look at it from our perspective. I too have been a long time DBZ fan, and I always dreamed of seeing a live action version of it. That doesnt mean, though, that I will support it %100 percent just because I wanted to see it so bad. This looks like garbage, and as a DBZ fan, I find it insulting that it made it this far in post-production with such little regard to the story or the fans who support it. Among the many issues I have with it, Chatwin seems like a terrible choice for Goku, and worst of all, they took out Krillin and replaced him with some other nameless character. Why did they do that?!!! Trust me, man, I want to see a live action DBZ real bad, but this just looks like a bad adaptation and a lot of the fans are pissed about it.

Dont listen to what anybody else has to say. If you support it, rock on man. I hope you enjoy it, I really do. Just dont get upset if others do not.

Aren't we all forgetting that most of the public is just going to see this for what dragonball, dragonball z and dragonball GT are big cool explosions. Men with god like powers. Aliens I have to go with Reco and SGA this movie is going to be amazing. But i was hoping for this frachise to at least make it to Frieza. I hope this thing explodes at the box office, so we can see adaptations of many of the great characters.

And what about Raditz?!?! if they do a second movie raditz has to at least make a small cameo. Not to mention, Tien and Chiatsu. I would love see some comedian play yajirobe.

I, being a hardcore dragonball fan, am going to be first in line to see this movie, dressed up as goku and my wife dressed as Chi Chi.

By the way i Would love to see napa played by Jason Statham. He is big and stupid enough for him to pull it off.

It was mucho confusing, Joob! And Noob, say what you want about DBE, but don't bad-mouth Tai Chi! :p And as far as DBE goes, you can't really say a movie is gonna suck until you see it. I'm not saying its gonna be good, but it deserves a chance. Shame on you guys who said you hope this movie flops! If it does, do you realize how long, if ever, it will be before there's another DB movie? The series is over! This isn't Superman, no one will be waiting in line to reboot this franchise. Its bad enough we have to witness the death of Street Fighter without ever getting a Ryu/Ken movie. If this movie flops there will most likely NEVER be Krillin, Vegeta or Trunks on the big screen. I'm personally gonna see this movie at least 5 times. Because, though I know they won't all be good, or even desent(Daredevil, Ghost Rider, SR), I'm luvin the fact that Hollywood is making a lot more Comic book/Cartoon/Anime movies. I'm 28, and I know most of you are younger than me, but for most of my life we didn't have a cool superhero movie(maybe Batman every few years) to look forward to every summer... Much less 5! So, bitch and gripe all u want, I'll be there with you if its bad enough("cough""cough""Legeng of Chun Li""cough"), but wishing failure is a little much.

I'm not trying to defend this movie specifically(though it is starting to look better), I will say this. It's about as close to source material of DragonBall as Michael Bay's Transformers was/is to its material. I had much the same complaints about looks and characters(no Soundwave), and Transformers was the cooles thing I've ever seen on film. Also, I thought the first Matrix was gonna suck, I thought the previews made it look cheesey. That movie rocked, too...
