After public relations whiz, Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), has convinced Hancock (Will Smith) to go to jail, Ray presents Hancock with a superhero costume. We don't get to see it until the chief of police calls requesting Hancock's help with a bank robbery. You can see a portion of that scene and more importantly, Hancock's snazzy costume, in the video below. Beneath that, are six alternate costumes that were illustrated by James Carson. A fun little fact, the eagle logo on the back of Hancock's costume is actually a replica of the Philadelphia Eagles logo used from 1948 to 1995.

Will Smith (he Pursuit of Happyness) stars in this action-packed comedy as Hancock, a sarcastic, hard-living and misunderstood superhero who has fallen out of favor with the public. When Hancock grudgingly agrees to an extreme makeover from idealistic publicist Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman, Juno), his life and reputation rise from the ashes and all seems right again--until he meets a woman (2003 Academy Award® winner Charlize Theron, Best Actress, Monster) with similar powers to his and the key to his secret past.

Excellent choice! Because the one they ended up using was the best. All these alternatives suck ice. Some of them even look like he's wearing a bra.

I actually enjoyed Hancock even with some of the glaring plot holes. I don't really care for any of the concept costumes. In glad they went with what they did. I still would have liked to see a sequel.

"I liked the beginning of the movie. Then the whole mythological thing came up and it fell apart."

It did get dicey but I think with the right writer, it could be done well. It left too many questions but I can see the potential and the character himself is pretty awesome.

I'm gonna watch it today now...

Digging the one with the cape. The suit looked pretty lacking on film especially when he's flying

NO need for a sequel, because the premise--that Hancock was a screw-up and a drunk and needed to redeem himself -- was already handled in the storyline. What would the next flick be about, him becoming a screw-up again? Leave it alone.

When Hancock is fighting the woman outside theres a huge monster in the background. This has never been addressed...

@@Chuck420Taylor -- Ill be damned if you're not the only other person I have come across to have noticed that. I know exactly what you're talking about. A hunched over, thin, gray-ish beast, much taller, among the crowds lumbering much more slowly than the people running. I always thought this would be addressed somewhere.
