Collider.com has reported that Summit Entertainment and E1 Entertainment have just announced screenwriter David Hayter (Watchmen, X-Men and X2 ) will be writing and produce a pilot script for a TV version of Push.

Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger of E1 Entertainment had this to say...

“The concept behind the Push feature film offers a broad and rich canvas on which to extend the storyline and characters introduced in the feature film,”

“The project is also the perfect vehicle to initiate Summit’s plans of producing programming for the global television marketplace. The opportunity to do this with our trusted partners at E1 re-enforces that this is the right opportunity to grow Summit’s platform.”

The movie starring Chris Evans and Dakota Fanning was about a group of young Americans with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities hiding from a U.S. government agency. They must use their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.

To be honest i hated this film and it was a'Push' for me to watch to the end, saying that i can see promise as a tv show sice i cant see a aequel ever being made....especialy with the $50 million worldwide box office it received...ouch!!

"Why write an article on a movie you hated" i hear you say!! .....well mainly cus my brain exploded when i realised the co-writer of many CBM's David Hayter played Sean Barker in Guyver: Dark Hero ....yay lol

Teabag out :P

I love THE GUYVER!!!

That needs to be turned into a damn live-action TV series more than PUSH does dammit!!

Cool news though, i liked PUSH, a more real take than HEROES, though a PUSH TV show would just be like HEROES sort of, and/or 3300!!!

Quite enjoyed Push. Hoped that they'd do more with it. It did feel more like Heroes and X-men combined. And if it's good enough for Solid Snake, it's good enough for me.

It wasn't the best movie ever, but I think it could probably do what Heroes is failing to do...entertain.

I actually loved Push. I thought it was a fantastic movie with beautiful camerawork, effects, and incredible detail. Even the story was fleshed out nicely, and all the little details were thought of.

I'm on the Push Bandwagon as well. I think I've gotten so sick of CGI and stylized film making that anything that's a bit grittier and down to Earth just comes off as refreshing. Speaking of which the Hurt Locker is coolest movie I've seen in 2010 so far.

Push was mediocre at best!

Fanning's acting was quite awful and way beneath her usual!
Chris was good as usual. But the bad guys
stole the show and were way more entertaining but
even Djimon seemed forced in his performance!

But I can see this as a TV series! I'd watch it!

ddd@ ill agree with you on evans being good, i hate movies like push that have so much potential and end up being less than poor.

I thought Push was alright at best. Definately not as engaging as the first to X-Men. But to merit a show, come on... I'd rather have Disney produce a live action X-men series than this.

Push was a horrible movie. I could maybe see it being a good TV show, but it would be too similar to Heroes. Not the first season of Heroes that everyone liked, but more like season 3 of Heroes when even the die hard fans gave up.

OTACON.... I have to write a pilot for a show based on a mediocre film... but I don't know how to write! In the field of battle, I write my name in bullet and blood.

The above post just reminded me that Stargate was a mediocre film, but an awesome TV show, so maybe this could work. I still think it will end up looking like a ripoff of Heroes.
