NEW Push Pics

Summit Entertainment sent us some new pictures from their PUSH movie. While technically it is not adapted from a comic book, it was obviously influenced by them, and has now spawned its own mini-series through WildStorm. Plus, that Dakota Fanning is just so darn cute!

A riveting action-thriller, Push burrows deep into the deadly world of psychic espionage where artificially enhanced paranormal operatives have the ability to move objects with their minds, see the future, create new realities and kill without ever touching their victims. Against this setting, a young man and a teenage girl take on a clandestine agency in a race against time that will determine the future of civilization.

The Division, a shadowy government agency, is genetically transforming citizens into an army of psychic warriors—and brutally disposing of those unwilling to participate. Nick Gant (Chris Evans), a second-generation telekinetic or “mover,” has been in hiding since the Division murdered his father more than a decade earlier. He has found sanctuary in densely populated Hong Kong—the last safe place on earth for fugitive psychics like him—but only if he can keep his gift a secret.

Nick is forced out of hiding when Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning), a 13-year-old clairvoyant or “watcher,” seeks his help in finding Kira, (Camilla Belle), an escaped “pusher” who may hold the key to ending the Division’s program. Pushers possess the most dangerous of all psychic powers: the ability to influence others’ actions by implanting thoughts in their minds. But Cassie’s presence soon attracts the attention of the Division’s human bloodhounds, forcing Nick and Cassie to flee for their lives.

With the help of a team of rogue psychics, the unlikely duo traverses the seedy underbelly of the city, trying to stay one step ahead of the authorities as they search for Kira. But they find themselves square in the crosshairs of Division Agent Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou), a pusher who will stop at nothing to keep them from achieving their goal.

Im excited for this movie personally. I like the main actor even though FF let me down I think he played a decent Johnny Storm.
However Im not a fan of Dakota Fanning and hope she does not ruin it for me.
But any movie that features super powers, psychics and machine guns has got to at least be entertaining.

I am not excited about this movie.
for me it looks too much like a X-men rip off in a weird way.

Never know. I might go see and change my mind but as of right now, I'm saying...no.

See this is what I'm talking about, it strays enough from Gen13 to not offend anyone, yet it is inspired on the same elements, if the Dragonball movie had a different name, I would not hate it so much.

I say it again, Dakota fanning's parents are milking her like a golden egg laying bird. She will have professional burnout before she's 23 and I believe what she is doing violates just about every children's rights treaty and antichild labor laws. I just hope she doesn't turn out like Michael Jackson.

This is just playing on the now popular theme of, not super-HEROES, but "real people" with powers. Like Han[wiener]. It could be good, don't think it'll be great. However... there is one thing that guarantees me seeing it in theaters... Camila Belle! Be still my heart!

I've seen the trailer it looks pretty awesome! And without it being a comic book adaptation, it should be even more awesome (considering that we don't know what will happen in the movie rather than an actual comic book mive where we can point out was wrong and what's inaccurate). This movie looks cool!

I do like the "originality" of the film. Without the pre-existing knowledge of what SHOULD happen. That definitely makes it able to be a better movie than adaptations because it doesn't have any real prerequisites to succeed. Other than the obvious having a good sotry, plot, acting, script etc. But there's no fanbase of people out there with the ability to say "They should have done [blank] with this character, and [blank] should be able to do this, and that didn't actually happen in the comics version." So, I think that alone will help Push (pun intended) this movie along.

I was never a fan of the FF, and those movies just made it all that much worse. But he did do a decent job portraying Johnny Storm, and Dakota Fanning has done some good stuff, but does it look to anyone else that is completely burnt (cracked) out? Maybe that's just for the movie, but she is looking more and more like an emaciated Olsen twin if you ask me.

Djimon Honsou is always good no matter what role he's playing or what kind of movie he's in. I'm still bidding for him to play the role of Black Panther, if he shows up in a live action movie. I think that would be perfection.

Chris Evans did a fantastic job playin Johnny Storm, infact i think he is the only person who truely portrayed what the Fantastic 4 memeber was about.

As far as this movie goes it is basically Heroes and Jumper combined to start something different. Camilla Bell is gorgeous and Dakota Fanning is just a annoying little girl who still cant act. How they picked her for this movie is a mystery to me.

Chris Evans=Awsome
Camilla Bell=Excellent
Djimon Hounsou=Bad Ass
Dakota Fanning=Someone find a gun and blow her brains out in the 1st couple min of the movie so it gets great reviews/

Djimon will be the only good thing in this movie. Camilla is not a good actress. Chris hasn't gotten any better than when he was in "Not another teen movie" and as far as Fantastic four goes, despite his short stature, Michael Chiklis was the best thing (haha pun intended) to come out of Fantastic Four.

i thought evans was a good human torch..i mean he was annoying as hell but so is the character!

cmon Dakota fanning is a great little actress, i agree shes in to many movies and can get annoying but you cant watch man on fire and say shes a bad actress.

djimon is shit cool and i agree that he would be the ultimate black panther.

movie looks ok..you just never know with these type of films..jumper looked good..we all know how that turned out

people dont give enough credit to movies. if u watch a movie more than once w/ a different take on it then u will find out more about the movie then u think u will. when i 1st saw jumper i thought it was ok. now that i have seen it a couple times i actually like the movie and think its an all around enjoyable movie.

Dakota Fanning is the the worst thing in hollywood along side Kristen Bell. The two of them in a movie would make me wanna punch a baby and listen to it cry the entire movie if i should ever decide to put myself through such horror.

Camilla Belle is not a bad actress and Chris Evans is a great actor. They both are still break out stars. She has a little more work to do than him b/c he was in F4 and F4 ROTSS. She is beauitful also which it makes it hard to ignore her also. She could be just as great as Megan Fox was in Transformers.

Well, ive seen jumper twice, i was forced to sit through it a 2nd time on a plane! Ah i guess it wasnt a complete load of shit, i was just really dissapointed because i was expecting so much from it. Jaime Bell was good in it..but hayden christianson was as bad as he was in star wars (if thats possible) and the script was dire.

davidzuck - What's telling you that this isn't going to work is a well tuned intuition that learned from watching countless shows like this (fun sci-fi potential) fail miserably on account of terrible writing.
Why do so many sci-fi/genre TV writers suck so much. I've asked them, even they don't have an answer.

Then again, I never would have believed that a rehash of battlestar would be worth a watch, and lo and behold...still, the teenage sidekick doesn't bode well.

MarkCassidy - 12/16/2008, 12:44 PM
Lo and behold the new Battlestar is one of the best shows ever made! i agree they are few and far between though. I mean Stargate had like 50 seasons or something and i dont know how many spin offs and imo its the cheesiest suckfest ive ever seen..but it obviously has its fanbase

I agree with a lot of you on this one with an added twist. It looks like X-men meets Star Wars and Jumper. I do like to see Hollywood actually make a movie that doesn't defile our Comic Hero's images though. The action looks good and Chris Evans seems to have a good part in this and same with Dakota Fanning. I couldn't stand her as a child actor but she's grown up a little let's give her a second chance and see where it goes. As far as Djimon Hounsou I've liked him in every thing he's done, but notice how he mirrors Samuel L. Jackson in both Star Wars and Jumper. Ponder on that one for minute.
