I have never been a big Star Trek fan. I personally am a Star Wars guy. But unless Lucas makes a CGI film about the events that took place after episode 6, then the sci fi money is going to be changing directions and heading over to Paramount. Star Trek is about ready to take off.

I think I like the Star Trek logo that is on the website better.. Star Wars. This one is too... Transformersish.. Star Wars.. And i'm sorry but if they make another cgi Star Wars I will kill George Lucas because Star Wars Clone Wars was terrible.. Star Wars. (lol thats 7)

I think this looks okay..could be great,..could be terrible. Either way i think its going to piss alot of Trek fans off!

New Star Wars live action tv series coming out in 2010 :D hopefully that'll make Star Wars cool again :p That's 10 haha

In all fairness, Star Trek is looking good, can't wait for it to come out. Sylar the spock! whoop whoop!

I was a little worried about this movie when i heard JJ Abrams was attached(Lost and Fringe kinda suck), but I have to say it looks pretty awesome.

Speaking of Abrams, any word on Cloverfield 2? The first was awesome!

And, at what point of the lore is the Star Wars(11) show taking place? Please tell me its not another prequel...

I'm a huge Trek fan (Star Wars [12] sucks now) and I think this movie looks great. I'm not too fond of the actors portraying these roles (Simon Pegg as Scotty is awesome though) but it looks good still.

I would like to see another TNG movie though, those were awesome.

When you say Spock do you mean Leonard Nimoy cos if you do then he is in it and William Shatners Kirk is dead so he couldnt be in it.

I like Star Wars....it wasn't perfect, but I can live with how Star Wars turned out.

i havent caught the Star Wars animation yet but im sure I will.

I have to say that I was really worried that this movie was jut going to be horrible when I first saw the cast, but after seeing bits of the trailer I don't think the casting is going to be the problem in the end, it is going to be an over abundance of CGI, twists, and kirk banging anything that moves. And I agree with gtrman, the only way to bring Star Wars(228) back from where it is after The animated Clone Wars movie is to get Lucas' chubby little fingers out of the writing and directing and let somebody else take on a different portion of the universe. Maybe even a KOTOR time would be cool.

The only way(and I'm a Star Wars guy)the only way Lucas can breath new life into the Star Wars franchise is (and I'm serious) make an Ewoks movie...who the hell wouldn't go see an Epic Ewoks film, plus it would be cool if they had some familior faces make cameo's like: Chewbacca,Yoda,Jabba the Hut & even introduce some new Jedi's.

Just because Wicket is cute n' cuddly dosen't mean he's not one Badass Muthafuka that's down like a frown to kcuF you up !!

my prediction..."The Ewoks" movie coming in 2 thousand something...

im a big time Star wars (Umm Lost count) guy, but this doesnt look bad, It may re-introduce Star Trek to the younger generation. Either way, Star wars is better, just my opinion...

Haha that was really confusing haha. I love them both in many ways:D Oh and btw I just went to the official website and saw the trailer so I'm happy now haha. I can't wait to see the chemistry between the characters, specially Kirk, Spock and McCoy.

Well since Star war was basically a ripoff of Star Trek they are basically the same if you think about it

These guys look better then the other actor who portray these characters

I like Star Wars just as much as the next guy, but I am more of a Star Trek fan. But I would like to something past Kirk, Spock, & TNG. I'm ready for something new.

Hey Logan-X, I agree with you on Jonathan Frakes. I would LOVE to see a movie with Riker at the helm of the U.S.S. Titan. And Troi is councilor on that ship as well as his wife, so there you have two familiar characters already. Add in Alexander Rojanko as an ensign or security officer, and it's perfect! XD

I didn't like Enterprise as much as the other series (i'm a girl, and i'm more into the drama than the epic fight scenes) but I would still see a movie of it if they made one.

You know what I really wanna see? ST Voyager: The Movie. Janeway was BEAST, man. And the Doctor was kick butt! I loved that crew.

(and CRUSH, they've already made TWO Ewok movies, and they kinda failed. Supposedly the sequel was better than the original though.)

I'm not gonna diss the fandom, cause dude, I have a framed autograph of Mark Hamill in my room. But Star Trek lore is so much more bountiful and meatier and less confusing continuity-wise. To me at least. And it's sooooooo incredibly DIFFERENT in nearly every possible way. Star Trek takes place in OUR future, in OUR galaxy. Not A LONG TIME AGO in a galaxy FAR AWAY. So the costumes and ships are designed completely differently, as opposed to the middle-ages feel to the other franchise.
I really don't feel the two are comparable at all. I like 'em both, I believe a Bird of Prey is safer to drive than an X-Wing (I wouldn't be caught dead in one, they don't have any shields!!!) but to me it's like comparing Pizza to Pasta. Both Italian, totally different, but both very tasty in their own way. XD

Crush im afraid as soon as i hit puberty the Ewoks became my sworn enemies..they were the Jar Jars of Return of the Jedi!

Quicksilverfox thats a good analogy, aside from being both sci fi they really dont have anything in common except the word "star". I never really loved any of the shows except the original..i mean what character ever came close to being as cool as Spock? But i did enjoy all of them..for the most part.
