James Cameron Praises TERMINATOR GENISYS And Dismisses 3 & 4 In First Featurette

Most Terminator fans appear to be on the fence when it comes to Alan Taylor's (Thor: The Dark World) Terminator Genisys, but franchise creator James Cameron has nothing but good things to say here as he also indicates that the third and fourth movies should be forgotten...

The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Courtney B. Vance, and J.K. Simmons, Terminator Genisys is set to be released on July 1st.

I don't care what anyone says, Terminator: Salvation was awesome. I'm not worried if it didn't mesh with the original 2, and it was miles better than whatever the hell Rise of the Machines was supposed to be.

And yeah, I'll be seeing Genysis, or Genisys, or Ginises or whatever the hell they named it.

Of course he praises the movie. He and Arnold toss each other’s salads. James? How that Avatar movie coming along?

He is the creator of Terminator, so he must get paid whenever they make movies using his creation,

its in his interest for them to make more and more sequels

Gotta love that no one believes one of the most celebrated directors of our generation.

When you're more discerning than James Cameron, you need a [frick]ing life.

@MercwithMouth

im a big salvation fan too. it makes no sense to me that everyone hated it so much; it's true that it didn't match thw tone of the others, but i do think it matched up well with the flash-forward "future" scenes.

Cameron is just doing his great friend Arnie a solid by supporting the film.

Nothing will be as good as Cameron's Terminator films but he likes this one...we may too.
We will like his better but can still enjoy something new.

I'll wait for cable on this one. Teasers are good but when you show the plot twist why should I spend money on it. T2 was great it just showed them making terminators then when you go and see you're like holy crap there are 2 of them, who will kill who?

Screw James Cameron! Yeah, I said it. The best films in the series were 1 and 4. Once you start adding liquid metal machines, you take away any plausibility the film had.

I'll see Genysis and probably enjoy it, but theres no way that it, 2 and 3 can match the greatness of 1 and 4.

We're not sure what side this John Connor is on

Sky net sent back a T800 and T1000 to the past

John Connor sent back Kyle Reese to the past

But the real question is, who sent back the old T800 to the 60s and who sent back that John Connor?
We're not even sure what's their whole agenda is in this movie

I didn't mind Rise of the Machines. Salvation was utterly boring. No wonder Christian Bale got pissed the [frick] off during filming. He should have his cock sucked for giving the filmmaking crew the business.
