Clark Gregg On Skye's True Identity, Possibly Appearing On The Big Screen Again, More

In a recent interview with Comic Book Resources, Clark Gregg tells what elements of Marvel's Agents of Shield got him most excited, “What I've liked about this season is the poor writers had to really tread water for a while waiting for "Winter Soldier" in Season One. They've kind of taken the reins off them a little bit now.” He then tells that he thinks around episodes seven and eight, the story arc for the show really started to develop, “We start to see the writing, and within seven or eight episodes we're in this underground city and there's Terragenesis,” He then adds, “It's kind of incredible and BAM, now we've got to deal with what has this person been transformed into, and we've got Inhumans. Cool!"

When asked about whether or not he’d like to appear on the big screen one more time, he responded, "It's funny, the membrane between me and the character is so thin, I really want to explain to the Avengers, that I didn't just lie to them. So I would really like it for that reason, yes. But I'm having an awfully good time where I am.” Agents of Shield is now on its hiatus, and it's being substituted with Marvel’s Agent Carter. When Agents of Shield makes its return, what’s some things you’d like to see happen? Coulson wants a Rocket Raccoon cameo, what do you want? Sound off below with your thoughts!

Damn, so Agent Coulson won't even appear in Avengers Age of Ultron to tell The Avengers that "Hey, i am back".

@Doopie Yeah, they need to get him in the season finale.

@MexicanSuperman

Aww come on, he wasn't that bad. You got to admit his nerdy moments towards Captain America in The Avengers was one of the highlights of the movie.

Im really interested where this is gonna go since were not going to see a true inhumans movie for a few years still. Coulson will reunite with the avengers eventually, its all just a matter of time

Coulson is nowhere as bland as Maria Hill is in the movies. Cobie is great at comedy but really doesn't sell it as a serious character.

I'm wondering if Coulson will show up in Marvel's Inhumans film.

[SPOILERS]

If rumors of Cap's demise and resurrection in future Marvel films are true, I could see them bringing Coulson back into the fold when Rogers returns. It would be appropriate given his fanboy-ness with Cap, and they could give a nod to AOS watchers without it seeming so out place to the general audience.

I was hoping that Cap socks the shit out of Fury for lying about Coulson....

Maybe in the future.

Can't wait for the return. It's amazing though how much Coulson has become a background character in his own season. I like Gregg, he's a gifted actor (and he can deadpan with the greats), but the emergence of Brett Dalton and Iain De Caestecker as the acting juggernauts of the show has really pushed Coulson back. Not to mention the phenomenal villain performances by Paxton, MacLaughlan and Diamond. But, Coulson is still fun to watch, and he's embracing the director role by becoming more secretive, and more of a hardass. I like it.

The "share" Universe, is a scam. In the movies it will never be addressed anything about AoS. Coulson will remain dead.

I think she'd be better if showed more attitude than slight annoyance in her role.

@hgokuh Except from, you know the fact they introduced the goddamn Inhumans 4 years before the movie even comes out!

This show is really poor, it's all over the place and they really don't know what they're doing long term. I hate that they are trying to ret-con all the character origins and "real identities" of the already crappy cast.

Stop.

@AstonishingArachnid yeah, tell me about it in four years, when nothing from the show has anything to do with the movie.

To me, AOS is ace.

It's the best CBTV show right now and it did it with the extra difficulty on not relying on any A list character wether villains or superheros.

I like the meticulious building specific of Marvel, the whole big puzzle opening doors to secrets, expanding the universe, revealing people origin and secrets like a web consistently expanding in a well crafted order.

The improvement has been phenomenal since they were able to literally unleash what they had up their sleeves!

It resembles nothing i have seen on tv as a show. It's mixing elements of the older 80'S V show, the X files, Alias, Indiana Jones, Loss.

Plus the acting has been on point, especially with all the villains, with the intriguing seductive feline like Ruth Negga, Lain/Fitz, even Benet has grown tremendously as an actress

It's a sick show right now.

They have to play that moment where the Avengers realize he's alive just right. They nailed his resurrection, made it interesting and complex and awesome, and this would be the last piece of the puzzle. I really want them to get it just right because if they could manage it, Coulson's story would be one of the best in CBM history in my opinion. I've thought about how they would do it, but I just had a thought. He's the Director of SHIELD now. What if like in the ashes of "The Infinity Wars" SHIELD gets back up to snuff and at the end Coulson just appears on one of those big television screens hanging on a building and thanks the Avengers for saving the world. Then he's like, we'll take it from here and the Avengers, crawling out of all the debris, are just looking up at the screen like, "WTF?" THE END. That would be epic!
